IT consulting firms often miss new business opportunities, as they aren’t able to attract additional consultants for StreamServe, Content Server or Livelink products on a project basis to help them cover peak workload periods.
Having 20 StreamServe consultants in its development center in Ukraine, N-iX StreamServe Consultants service was launched to meet the needs of such companies.
How Ukraine happened to have such rare top-notch specialists?
Outsourcing tech hubs like Lviv (western Ukraine) give grounds for IT consulting business. It was the case for N-iX. In 2005, it started partnership with StreamServe to develop StreamServe 4.x, StreamServe 5.x and StreamServe Persuasion™ (now OpenText StreamServe), which later evolved to include IT consulting for the product. After completing over 150 projects together with Professional Services consultants at OpenText, the team of consultants are experienced in engaging with end-customers both onsite and offsite, allowing the customers to get the full advantage of the StreamServe solution. The consultants at N-iX design and deliver solutions custom-tailored to specific needs, implement StreamServe software onsite or offsite, install and configure StreamServe components and deliver technical documentation, or even transfer the knowledge about the project to company’s personnel if needed. It is a common practice to have one consultant onsite and a back-end team in Ukraine. In that case, the project is managed and coordinated locally, and most of the technical work is done remotely. This helps to achieve both cost-effective and responsive results. On the other hand, smaller companies tend to have development offsite. This saves costs, while consultants still might come onsite to ensure maximum support at the Go-Live stage. In both cases, communication inside the team is usually held through WebEx, which allows voice conferencing and screen sharing capabilities for large audiences.
