N-iX, a global software solutions and engineering services company and an AWS Advanced Tier Services partner, has achieved AWS Migration Services Competency status.
The AWS Migration Competency is a recognition for AWS Partners demonstrating exceptional expertise and success in migrating and modernizing applications and data to the AWS cloud. It signifies a deep understanding of cloud migration strategies, methodologies, and best practices, providing businesses with enhanced agility, scalability, cost savings, and performance.
This marks N-iX's third AWS competency, following the AWS Data and Analytics Competency and the AWS DevOps Competency Partner Status.
To achieve AWS Migration Services Competency Partner status, N-iX underwent a thorough validation process by AWS. The company underwent a review, showcasing its proficiency in assisting enterprise customers with migrating applications and legacy infrastructure to AWS, along with a collection of recent customer success stories.
One of the case studies submitted was N-iX's project with a financial institution. The N-iX team assisted the customer in creating a disaster recovery plan and implementing it by replicating data from on-premises to AWS. This effort established a backup storage, preventing data loss in the event of a disaster. Also, N-iX provided the customer with a high-volume disk space (more than 100 TB) within the MySQL database in AWS by leveraging Raid 0. Thanks to advanced security features and protocols, the bank was able to protect sensitive customer data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
Another notable case involved N-iX's collaboration with the world leader in professional electronic test tools and software for measuring and condition monitoring. The customer was keeping virtual machines on Windows servers hosted on AWS. Because of the lack of scalability, when one of the elements crashed, all infrastructure was down. To address this, N-iX migrated virtual machines to Docker containers hosted in AWS ECS, eliminating manual work and reducing maintenance efforts. The existing Apache Kafka workloads and Kafka Connect connectors were also migrated from Kubernetes, hosted in AWS ECS, to Amazon MSK. As a result, we reduced CPU and memory usage by 50%.
