Our client specializes in developing air decontamination devices for indoor environments. Their solutions are utilized in the healthcare industry, helping prevent the spread of airborne infections through water droplets.
The client needed to develop the firmware for their air decontamination and filtration devices (based on Raspberry Pi). The company also aimed to improve the system usability by building a mobile application to control it remotely.
N-iX helped the client develop the embedded firmware and the mobile application for the air decontamination and filtration system. We upgraded the controlling PCB from Raspberry Pi A+ to Raspberry Pi 3 A+, making the solution easier to maintain. Our engineers set up Linux OS on Raspberry Pi to provide a versatile, powerful, and cost-effective platform. We also developed the firmware for the device from scratch using Python.
Additionally, we helped develop a cross-platform mobile application (based on Flutter) for managing the air decontamination system remotely. It includes several key features that streamline the system's usability, such as the ability to schedule the system’s launch and activity periods with the help of interactive graphs. We also set up the device’s connectivity with the mobile application through a wireless network based on the MQTT protocol.
Through the cooperation with N-iX, the client has gained several important advantages:
- Ensured stable and efficient operation of the decontamination system with reliable firmware built from scratch;
- Improved the system’s reliability with an upgrade to the newest version of the controlling PCB;
- Improved system usability and user experience by implementing a mobile application with an intuitive interface to control and monitor the system remotely.
